Tian Zhang is an independent curator, writer, facilitator and collective worker. Her practice is underscored by conversation, criticality, solidarity and joy. She is a founding co-director of Pari, a collectively-run gallery in Parramatta and the author of 'A manifesto for radical care or how to be a human in the arts' (Sydney Review of Books / Lumbung Press / Agnes Etherington Art Centre).

Tian’s work can manifest in exhibitions, pedagogical programs, residencies, reading groups, live performance, sound and text. She was the Chief Curator of Ulaanbaatar Biennale On the horizon, under the moon, a new biennale in Mongolia’s capital. Her curatorial and collaborative projects have been presented at Documenta Fifteen, Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney Customs House, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Utp, Metro Arts and Judith Wright Centre.

Tian is based between Dharug Country in western Sydney, and Kathmandu, Newa-Tamsaling.
